Overview:
In 2007, The U.S. General Services Administration, Greater Southwest Region 7 awarded Sallyport a 5 yr contract to renovate and provide food services to the Hale Boggs Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in New Orleans, LA. The building had been without any food services operation since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The complex besides being home to twenty federal judges is also home to 12 other federal agencies (eg. Coast Guard, HUD, Marshall Service).
Scope of Services:
Sallyport operated the 10,794 sq ft food services facility with seating for over 300 personnel offering a full breakfast and lunch menu.
- Renovated and repaired the kitchen and dining area after having been flooded and not in use since 2005.
- Installed new cooking and dishwashing equipment and redecorated the dining area.
- Introduced new menu with daily specials
- Served first meal 45 days after contract award.
- Provided a full breakfast and lunch menu to the 1500 occupants of the building.
- Provided a special meal service to the judges in their own private dining quarters as well as sequestered jury and prisoners in their own dining facility.
- Set up a food kiosk to provide additional food services at another high traffic area of the building.
- Designed and catered events for the federal judges and other tenants of the complex for their special events.
- Established a frequent meal card and dining promotions which increased patronage.
